Solar energy and its Importance

We have been hearing about solar energy all our life but we are not the chosen ones to have ever experienced them. Solar energy is nothing but solar furnaces on the top of the building or a solar energy tracking tower to tap solar power and convert it into energy that helps us in running a fan or a light or anything that hydroelectricity could help us in.

Solar power is getting the energy from the sun rays and this system will help the environment by helping preserve coal. A solar power energy center requires human resources to get their projects approved and finally implemented. It’s  not  a cakewalk but a very intense and coordinated project where you have your engineer making the design of the furnace and the project manager finalizing it and sending it for approval while the government sends the approval sometime but this I not the case every time. A project has to be planned in a very intricate way and if possible aesthetically too,
Once the government gives an approval then the implementation of the project starts and you have a need for so many laborers. When the scope of the project changes the whole plan might change and so the control has to keep the estimation in order for the project to roll the right way and at the right time. Operations and maintenance of the solar energy towers or furnace is again a very important service that solar energy companies could offer and qualify in the service well
The solar power plant facilities are in the hands of the operation & maintenance team.
In a nutshell the system works in the following process:
  • Project development and Execution
  • Project services such as designing and estimation control
  • Research & development &
  • Operations and Maintenance
This kind of work that helps the society and the environment should be applauded and given the right assistance as possible.

To conclude, this is the best form of energy that heals the environment and gives all year round energy if you are living in India. Places where you get the sun only for few months because of the longitude and latitude, they can harness energy from either hydroelectricity or another way possible.

IMPORTANCE OF SOLAR POWER PROJECTS

The gift of natural resources is something which is priceless and no one can ever repay it back. The sunlight, water, and air we have around us give existence to our lives. With this priceless treasure, technology can also make good use of it and come up with using them in something good. You must have heard of solar energy. The energy accumulated with the sun is now used in generating electricity and gives guidance to many huge solar power projects.
There are so many industries and factories which are working on this concept and suing the natural resources in a better way. Sun energy can now be converted into many other forms like solar cells, solar heaters, etc. There are thousands of companies which are in this field and operate worldwide. There are many companies which take up such projects and provide exclusive services for them like:
Importance of solar energy

Project development and implementation: It is very difficult to set up a solar plant and start up with the projects. Not every company can do that as companies which specialize in this field can handle such complex projects. There are lots of planning and expertise is required when implementing solar power projects. Using the sun radiation to create electricity is a surprising and useful process. Companies specializing in solar power projects make use of latest technology and skilled manpower to make such projects successful.

Project services:

Solar power projects are not just made to be started once, but, they need continuous look after and effective management. Companies which lack this expertise need to contact other companies or outsource the project management services. Some projects are in a predefined time frame and some are limitless. Therefore, every company has to ask for quotes about the project management services and also consider the past record of every service provider.
Energy of future- solar energy

Research and development:

Every company needs a R&D department, which can manage the changes in the long run of the projects going on. In the case of solar power projects, companies need the same. Every person or employee cannot be a part of this department. There is need of highly qualified professionals and scientists which can handle the project well in every situation. So, it is good to assign this area of work to some specialized company.

Operations and maintenance:

Companies need to maintain their project and business operations at any cost. This can be possible only with joining hands with an expert company because such projects involve a lot of investment.

Solar Inverters

Solar inverters are based on PV (Photovoltaic) Solar technology. This technology is used to convert sunlight into electricity. This technology is useful mainly because it uses solar energy which is an abundantly available resource. Secondly, it is benign in nature. This is because it does not produce any noise or harmful emissions and does not require water for generating electricity.

Solar Inverter Design Requirements

Solar Inverters comes with simplistic electrical requirements; specific performance requirements; and protection functions. Although there are few thermal requirements that require greater attention like the inverter system and related components cannot attain temperature beyond a specific value to avoid risk of fire, overheating or damage of insulation; temperature of switching devices should be maintained below certain specified value; due to inverters installation outdoors, they should be capable of handling extreme temperature fluctuations like -40 to 50 degree Celsius; and the like.

Major challenges

The major challenges of using these inverters include thermal management; robust performance; attaining a targeted reasonable price in the coming years and attaining an inverter lifetime greater than 15 years.

Future Advancements

Few of the possible future developments are listed below:

  • Development of micro grids to achieve better grid quality and greater reliability
  • Creative innovative topologies to generate more power and better efficiency
  • Developing HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Testing) and HASS (Highly Accelerated Stress Screening) can help improve the quality and reliability of inverters
  • Use of highly improved system components to improve the lifespan of inverters
  • Building the inverters with equal efficiency by using lesser components

Conclusion

From the above discussion, we may conclude that there is a need to make changes in the inverter design to improve the efficiency, reliability and life-span; and reduce the cost. Also, manufacturing and testing side is also required to improve to further upgrade the quality of the inverter. Furthermore, researchers need to develop advanced robust control techniques to upgrade the performance of inverter so as to lower the inverter downtime and to remove costly sensor components.
Nevertheless, solar inverters have a lot to offer to our growing solar power industry and they should be exploited for the same.

Solar Energy- The Energy of the Future

More often than not, solar energy has been touted as the energy with a commendable future. Abundant and clear, this energy has soared with the beginning of the 21st century and is increasingly becoming cost effective. The three primary technologies that are used for their generation- high temperature, low temperature thermal and photovoltaics are now widely available.

The Energy of Future

The environmentally conscious citizens are taking drastic and novel steps for the conservation of solar energy. Each day, more plants are set up, capacity records get broken and ambitious projects are lined up. In this respect, RaysExperts, a company dedicated to the cause of making solar energy available to large sections of the population is doing commendable work. They have generated huge amounts of electricity at 3 destinations- Baap, Gajner and Kolayat. At RaysExperts, the belief that solar energy will swiftly become a dynamic energy source, to meet the needs of energy security and peak demand, is what drives them forward.

What makes the biggies of the industry swear by its credibility is that it is an extremely clean source of energy. The solar panels, which are installed, typically perform for a period of 25 years approximately, are very low on maintenance, generate electricity without emissions or pollution, contributing to minimum global warming.

The current challenge, however, that the industry faces is the period when the growth of solar energy will accelerate as well as the rough patch prior to its widespread and extensive adoption which would eventually drive explosive growth. However, with the assistance of a highly talented and dedicated team of professionals, RaysExperts is close to overcoming these challenges by developing solar plants over an area of 400 acres.

Evolution of Solar Energy

One categorization that needs to be made here is that solar energy can be both active and passive. This depends on the mode of capture as well as the way it is utilized.

-          Active solar energy-

Use of mechanical or heating equipment for the conversion of solar energy into heat energy such as solar thermal collectors, mechanical equipment, pumps, fans.

-          Passive solar energy-

This happens without the need of any mechanical equipment. This is done using walls, windows, building placement, trees, etc. Example- Passive heating is when your car heats up on a hot day in summers.

Evolution of Solar Energy in India

Solar energy is the energy derived from the sun's rays. It is very important to understand that solar energy is the most widely available and least polluting form of energy, which is abundantly found in nature. Its all around us.

Nature is perfect in itself. Everything designed to be a part of nature has its own importance. Everything, everybody, has its own role to impart. Things are interconnected to each other. If one goes wrong, the whole system goes down. Its like a giant engine structured together, where even a small screw is as important for the functionality of the engine, as the engine itself.

Sun is the center of our solar system. The Earth, being the 3rd member of the solar family, is placed in such a manner that it has the perfect balance of every element to support the greatest gift from nature: Life.
Sun apart from holding the solar system together, supports life.

Solar energy was first collected in the year 1767, by a Swiss scientist names Horace-Benedict de Saussure, who had created the first solar collector, which was nothing but an insulated box covered with three layers of glass tp absorb heat energy. Saussure's box was widely known as the first ever solar "oven", and it could reach temperatures of 230 degrees fahrenheit.

Since then the basic models of solar oven or cookers were enhanced, and today we get advanced model, and cooking with solar energy has more nutritional value to the food, as direct heat is not involved, as the processing is slow.
Benefits of Solar Energy in India

The year of 2012, was a Record Breaking year for Solar Power Plants installation in India. As the researches done in the the past few years have seen an enormous investment in utility-scale solar plants, so is the advancement in this field has been. The results were unexpected, with India stealing away the show by breaking the records for the largest production of solar energy. India today is the leading producer of solar energy in the world, surpassing even the history’s largest producer of solar energy, by boasting a combined installed capacity of 605 megawatts, whereas China, which is supposed to be the largest producer so far, only produced with an installed capacity of 200 megawatts.
